Stuttgart

Ever heard of Stuttgart? Every time I ask foreigners if they know Stuttgart they say “Stuttgart, hmm, sounds familiar - where is it?”. Stuttgart is the home of Porsche and Mercedes which everybody seems to know.

We had actually never lived in Stuttgart, rather in Tamm and Kleinsachsenheim which is close Ludwigsburg which, again, is close to Stuttgart. The whole journey began in Bietigheim-Bissingen (somewhere between Tamm and Kleinsachsenheim) the first train station on our trip. It was July 31, 1997 and the train left at 4:50pm. Excited like crazy, we got on our first route which would lead us to Nice in France. We were ready to boldly go where no man had gone before. We were Interrail rookies on the road. What happened next…
