Driving and Traffic
Here is a glimpse into what driving in Madagascar is like. There are hardly any rules besides “don’t kill anybody” and “try not to wreck your car”. When there is space, you drive. When people in the streets don’t see you, you honk. But as a tourist, you usually don’t need to worry about that because rental cars almost always come with drivers. And it’s usually better to pick an old, settled driver instead of a young, YOLO driver.
Here is a video of some of the animals we saw. In some places, you can get quite close to the lemurs and they may even jump on your shoulders if you happen to keep a banana with you.
