Kruger Park: Big Animals

After entering the park, we drove around for about two hours spotting nothing but gigantic piles of elephant poop. They must have been close. Our patience was rewarded. This one was our very own private giant elephant and yes, it did feel like a vacation in Jurassic Park.

It was not the only elephant we would see here but it was hard to get a good shot. This guy didn’t mind posing for us, though.

He moved on, probably searching for a river or a lake for a drink. Elephants can drink up to 170 litres of water a day.

Everybody knows that giraffes are tall but seeing them out in nature, not only do you feel small (I don’t really need giraffes to feel small). It is actually kind of scary to turn around and see them approach your car.

They didn’t really do anything to our car. It was hard to determine if they are in fact used to the tourists or if they simply don’t care about us.
