These guys may be exciting in the beginning because they’re most likely the first animals you’ll see in the park. You’ll realize very soon, however, that they’re everywhere! They’re the animals we saw the most.
You see…
Many of these animals have only one or no horn left. Maybe this one…
…had an argument with this one.
Gnus are very frequent, too.
They all hang out together (as long as they’re not enemies). Some of the camps seem to have problems with baboons, most likely because tourists like to feed them.
Zebras, they say, have stripes so predators cannot distinguish the individuals when the herd runs away.
We weren’t lucky enough to see many rhinos. In fact, we only saw them once and they just gave us their behind.
The dangerous animals (crocodiles in this case) seem to be harder to find. Luckily, we caught them on this picture from afar.
Similarly, lions are not the animals you get to see a lot. Some guy stopped right next to us and said, “Psst! There are a few lions pretty close. Turn right, then left after 100m. Don’t tell anybody.” There were about 7 other cars. The (female) lions apparently took a nap in the shade.
If you think lions are dangerous, think again. Hippos are, in fact, the most dangerous animals in the park. When we saw them, they swam in a small river, dipping their heads from time to time.
