The Robberg Peninsula is a nature reserve close to Plettenberg Bay which is best explored on one day (it’s an 11km hike). Beautiful views, a challenging trail, and an ever-changing landscape.
And seals. Lots of them in some spots.
This sand bank called “The Gap” goes all the way down to the sea. Too bad we didn’t have our sandboards handy.
The sign says something like “Danger! Sliding sand beyond this point.
The so-called “Freak Waves.
After about two hours, we arrived at the tip of the peninsula (“The Point”). Red rocks, big waves, and seals.
On the other side of the peninsula, we sometimes had to go rock climbing. It was rewarding. Some of the formations looked kind of unreal.
After about 5 hours, we hit a deserted beach and hung out until we noticed that we only had about 30 minutes left to leave the nature reserve.
