Soweto stands for “South West Township” and is South Africa’s biggest and most historical township (during the times of Apartheid, everyone who was not white had to live in a township). Most of South Africa’s significant historical events took place here (e.g. you will find Mandela’s home here). Soweto is home to about 3.6 million people, just about the same as Berlin. Dangerous? Nah, not really. Only white South Africans seem to think so.
At one of the stands, you could choose among kidney, liver, heart and other meats. I picked heart, one of the guys cut it and grilled it.
After scraping leftovers off a wooden board, he put the meat on it so we could eat it. It was very delicious. No kidding.
